Kraye Angus Sale Banner

After several days with the temperatures in the 50's and 60's, sale day dawned, cool, cloudy and windy. By late morning the sun had come out, and although the wind was still pretty raw, the air temperature was in the mid-30's and just right for black bulls.

A large crowd gathered to enjoy roast sirloin sandwiches and good conversation prior to the sale. The barn was full and no one had any trouble finding a friend or neighbor to visit with.

Right at 1 o'clock , Tracy Harl, the auctioneer, Matt Printz, from the Angus Association and John Kraye all climbed into the auctioneer's box and the sale got started. After the three men gave a little speech, the Lot 1 bull was run into the ring and the bidding got pretty exciting. There had been quite a bit of interest in the Lot 1 bull, in the past weeks. Kraye Ambush JK 433, Lot 1, is a B/R Ambush 28 son, out of a JLB Exacto 416 daughter. Taubenheim Gelbvieh, from Amherst , NE , had the final bid of $10,000.

Lot 19 Kraye CVRD JK 4140, a Connealy VRD 869 son, was sold to Stepladder Angus Ranch, in Sutherland , NE for a bid of $5,750.

Mike Dent of Seneca , NE bought Kraye DVRD JK 4219, Lot 7, a son of Dameron VRD 237 for $5,000.

Lot 51, Kraye Yukon JK 4249, sold for $5,000, to Michael and Jan Rogers, from Ft. Worth Texas .

Chuck Anders bought the Lot 14 bull, Kraye Right Time JK 4224, a Hyline Right Time 338 son, for $4,750.

Conrad Lobner, from Lewellen , NE , was the volume buyer, buying 12 bulls. Not far behind was Y Six Livestock Inc. located in Hyannis , NE with the purchase of 10 bulls.

All in all, 109 Lots of Performance Bred Yearling Angus bulls were sold during the sale, for an average price of $2,902.

This was a solid set of hard-working bulls and the quality was consistent through out the sale. We have the highest expectations of these bulls, and we are certain that they will enhance the cow herds, of the people who bought them. John, Helen, Julie, & David Kraye

All of us at Kraye Angus would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You, to everyone who came to sale, whether you came and bought a bull or came to visit. We appreciate your interest.

Since the ranch is a harsh taskmaster, we are usually close to home, so feel free to call us, if you have any questions, or if we can help you in any way.

As the new bull calves are rapidly growing and changing every day, we find ourselves looking towards the sale in 2006. We have been writing notes, to remind us of the changes we would like to see in the next sale, and reminding us of the procedures that have worked well in the past. We will look forward to seeing everyone on the 27 th of February, 2006 , for the 15 th annual Kraye Angus bull sale.

Sincerely, John and Julie Kraye and family.
