Warm, sunny weather was the order of the day, with temperatures reaching near record highs. A large crowd gathered around the display pens to study the bulls, visit with friends and neighbors, and basically enjoy the beautiful day. This sale offering was a solid set of no nonsense bulls, ready to go to work in the buyers' cow herds. It was a challenge to find a balance, while finishing these bulls, to achieve the desired body condition, while still maintaining the structural soundness. The goal was to have bulls with strong bones and well developed muscles, which still had the over-all eye appeal. The quality of these bulls was consistent, from the beginning of the sale, to the end, and met with the standard of excellence set at Kraye Angus. The sale started promptly at 1o'clock MST, and lasted for a little over two hours. All in all, 112 Lots of Performance Bred Yearling Angus bulls were sold during the sale, for an average price of $2879. The top selling bulls were Lot 5, Kraye Freedom JK 5240, a TC Freedom 104 son, out of a Stepladder Focal Point 906 daughter, sold to Y-Six Livestock, in Hyannis Nebraska , for $5,250, and Lot 8, Kraye CVRD JK 5106, a Connealy VRD 869 son, out of a Merger daughter, sold to Bill Watkins, from Arnold Nebraska , for $5,250. Y-Six Livestock also purchased Lot 39, Kraye VRD JK 526, a VRD 7078 son, out of a Scotch Cap daughter for $5,000. Lot 23, Kraye Freedom JK 5143, a TC Freedom 104 son, out of a VRD 7078 daughter, sold to Gary Siegel, from Litchfield , NE for $5,000. All of us at Kraye Angus would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You, to everyone who came to the sale, whether you came and bought a bull, or came to visit. We appreciate your interest.
As we finish up the paper work and tie up the loose ends, on the 2006 bull sale, we are already making notes, of changes we would like to see in future sales, and writing reminders of the procedures that have worked well, that we would like to continue.
Sincerely, John and Julie Kraye and family. 2005 Sale Results and Pictures : 2004 Sale Results and Pictures. |
